As part of the design team for the feature film Den Stygge Stesøsteren, we were commissioned to create the main film poster. While my colleagues developed the composition, my focus was on crafting an ornate illustrated border inspired by the film’s historical setting and horror-infused tone.

Drawing from rococo ornamentation and a touch of the grotesque, I created a hand-drawn pen-and-ink illustration that weaves a tapestry of twisting, tape-worm forms.

Hidden within the decorative swirls are subtle symbols and motifs from the film itself—turning the border into a layered story of its own that reveals itself only with closer inspection.
